
Isla has achieved a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Greenwich following a conversion from an arts and humanities background. During her time studying she worked for Jacobs Engineering as a Landscape Technician assisting on a wide range of projects across Kent. She went on to work for West Sussex County Council within the Environment and Heritage team producing supplementary landscape planning guidance, including a Local Distinctiveness Study of the County of West Sussex.
She has also gained further planning experience working in the planning department at Chichester District Council. Isla recently completed the Landscape Institute Pathway to Chartership.
Since joining terra firma in 2012, Isla has assisted in producing numerous Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments, including for a proposed windfarm in wales. She has also been involved in the design of various housing schemes and school and college redevelopments across Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex and Slough.
Recently, Isla has assisted in providing landscape planning advice to the South Downs National Park Authority and South Oxfordshire District Council and assisted with district-wide capacity studies for Havant and South Oxfordshire as well as Landscape Character Assessments for parish council’s emerging neighbourhood plans and detailed design for numerous projects.
Isla will be rejoining terra firma in May 2020.
