Pratice Update – Summer 2007
24th September 2007
The practice continues to have an exceptionally varied workload, maintaining one of the busiest and most
exciting periods in its history, currently working on over 60 projects throughout the UK and overseas.
Involvement on schemes for University masterplans and new buildings, large scale leisure developments, new
corporate headquarters, new communities and urban regeneration run alongside projects in just about every
sector - Defence, Healthcare, Commercial, Education, Transport, Housing and Leisure. Every scale of scheme is
represented from large scale masterplanning exercises to compact city gardens and services vary from
coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments through to overseeing project implementation.
Terra Firma recently won the commission to produce the Masterplan for the Hayling Island Waterfront against
high profile competition. The Practice is also now very active on recently appointed overseas projects in
Romania, Croatia and Turkey . This wide range of projects reflects the very welcome and diverse spread of
clients, both new and established.
We would like to announce the recent arrivals of Suzie Lockyer, Chartered Landscape Architect (permanent and
part-time) and Lucy Cross as Assistant Landscape Architect for the summer (an intern from a Masters in
Landscape Architecture programme at Champagne Urbana, Illinois, US).
Leander Steyn has taken over the reins of Alshamsi Terra Firma from John Wigham in Dubai and the firm is going
from strength to strength, currently working for the region's leading developers on projects throughout the
Middle East as well as Pakistan and Algeria .
