Tom graduated from the University of Reading in 2007 as a Landscape Manager, with a background education in environmental science and biology. Whilst studying, he also got his hands dirty tending topiary at a specialist nursery in Hampshire. As part of his degree course, he spent a year in a work placement with Arun District Council. After joining terra firma, he embarked on the Pathway to Chartership and became a CMLI at the end of 2011.
In his time at the firm Tom has run numerous projects and assisted with all manner of local and national projects of various scales. From Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments to detailed design, most recently this has included residential developments situated within the sensitive South Downs National Park, work on an exclusive Hampshire hotel, redevelopment of a major automotive research centre, management advice for NATS sites and planting design for several schemes by Churchill Retirement Living.
Tom has also spent some time in the Middle East and has worked on several projects overseas including Al Falah and MASDAR new towns, Saadiyat Cultural Centre and Abu Dhabi Family Beach Project, as well as landscape detailing for a prestigious private residence in Kuwait.
Tom has begun to undertake full 3D modelling of sites for BIM projects.
